You will Need a visa for Nigeria unless you are a citizen of one of the following countries: 
Benin, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Cote DâIvoire, Ghana, Mali, Togo, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Niger,Liberia, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Gambia

Types of Nigerian Visas

Tourist visa - single entry valid for up to 3 months 

Business visa - single entry valid for up to 3 months multiple entry valid for up to 1 year

There are two services available for processing Nigerian visas – a standard 5 working day service or an express 2 working day service. These processing times are from the date of the appointment allocated by the Nigerian Consulate.    

Remember to allow yourself enough time to obtain your visa and to make your travel arrangements         

To obtain your visa you will need to submit the following documents:  

Passport
You need to lodge your actual passport, which will remain at the Consulate until the visa is granted. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your exit date from the country. Two blank pages are required to place the visa.

Passport -Type Photo 
Please provide one recent passport-type photo on a light or white background

Visa Application Form
The Nigerian Consulate has introduced an online visa application form and appointment system. The consulate fee must now be paid for online at the same time of submitting your application.     

To complete the online application form please click on the following web-link https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/ and follow the online instructions, for more detailed instructions please see the section ‘Visa Application Guidelines’.

Please ensure that once the form has been completed, you print out the following documents:

The Visa Acknowledgment Slip 
The Visa Payment Slip
The fully Completed Six Page Visa Application Form

The consulate will not accept documents where the application form and payment have not been completed online.

We are unable to proceed with your visa request until the application form and payment have been completed online.

Additional documents required

Tourist visa
You will need to provide a letter of invitation from Nigeria, addressed to the Visa Section, Nigeria High Commission, London, The letter of invitation must include the full contact details of the host and also specify the purpose and duration of your stay, the letter should be signed by the inviting person in Nigeria and the letter should also include acceptance of financial responsibility for the applicant.

Evidence of sufficient funds must also be provided, normally in the form of traveller’s cheques.

A photocopy of the inviting person’s passport 

Business visa
You will need to provide a letter from the inviting company in Nigeria (on company letter headed paper) addressed to the Visa Section, Nigeria High Commission, London. The letter of invitation must specify the purpose and duration of your stay along with the inviting company accepting full financial responsibility for the applicant.

Evidence of sufficient funds must also be provided, normally in the form of traveler’s cheques.

You will also need to supply a letter from your UK company (on company letter headed paper) confirming your employment status and immigration status if applicable and also confirming the purpose of the business trip to Nigeria.

Other documents required 

All NON-UK passport holders must have proof of UK Residential status in their passport.

Applicants may be invited for an interview before a visa or entry permit is issued.   

We provide a visa lodging service here in London, UK and can lodge your application on your behalf for a fee of GBP60.00 + VAT this is in addition to the fees you will need to pay direct to the Nigerian consulate when you submit your online application.
